He walked me through a few steps until we arrived at: I talked to Greg at Corel Tech Support, 1-80. He thinks deleting that key or file or folder will allow my word perfect to re-install properly and allow me to re-activate it. He thinks that there must be a secret folder, file or registry key that contains the serial number and it's using that when re-installing. It re-installs pefectly, just none of the programs will open. The serial number I have is: WS12CUC-xxxxxxx-KMB I remember having to enter it when I first installed it. When re-installing it, he noticed it didn't ask for the serial number. Did a search for any corel and word perfect files on the C: drive and deleted them. All of the corel folders from Application Data and Program Files. He thinks it's a copy protection thing.Īnyway, he has deleted all of the Corel and WordPerfect keys from the registry. I took my computer to a guy who's a computer guru, and he said he's seen the problem before with WPO12 where when ghosting to a new hard drive or certian hardware changes make WPO12 not open. I checked event viewer, no errors in there. When I double click, I get an hourglass for a few seconds, then nothing.
Now, word perfect, quattro pro and presentations won't open. I installed an extra hard drive as E: so I had a place to store all of my downloads, etc. I have filled out all of the information in my profile (with version numbers etc.)Įverything was running fine.
